Ni Kadek Yukiana Dewi, a seventh-semester student of the English Language Education Department at UHN I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa Denpasar, expressed her gratitude for having the opportunity to participate in CAMP EPIC 6, a program organized by the Regional English Language Office (RELO) in collaboration with the University of Indonesia (UI), held on November 4–16, 2024, in Bandung. She described the program as an extraordinary experience that not only enriched her professional competence as a future English teacher but also broadened her perspective on the importance of cross-cultural communication in education.
Over the course of two weeks, Yuki engaged in various training sessions designed to enhance teaching skills, particularly in creating interactive and inclusive learning environments. The activities focused on topics such as culture-based instruction, creative learning strategies, and the integration of technology in English language classrooms. According to her, the materials presented were highly relevant to the challenges she has encountered in class, especially in bridging students’ diverse backgrounds.
"In addition, I had the chance to share experiences with fellow participants from different regions across Indonesia. These interactions provided me with fresh insights into diverse teaching approaches and innovative solutions to increase student engagement in English learning," she explained.
One of the most memorable moments, she recalled, was the microteaching session, where she and other participants practiced the teaching methods learned throughout the program. "The constructive feedback from both facilitators and peers truly inspired me to continue innovating and developing more effective and enjoyable learning strategies," Yuki added.
