Life Update: Three English Education Students from UHN I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa Denpasar Embark on an Exciting Exchange Experience in Thailand
Thailand, November 7, 2025 — Three students from the English Education Department, Faculty of Dharma Acarya, Universitas Hindu Negeri I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa Denpasar, are currently taking part in a Student Exchange Program at Mahamakut Buddhist University, Isan Campus, Thailand. The program officially began on November 5, 2025, with an orientation session attended by the university’s vice rector, directors, and lecturers.
From the very beginning, the students have actively engaged in various academic and cultural activities, including classes such as History, Arts, and Thai Culture and Introduction to English Literature, as well as learning about Thai traditions through the national Loy Krathong Festival. During the program, they also introduced Balinese culture, including Galungan, Siwaratri, and Nyepi, through creative presentations.
“This program gives us a valuable opportunity to learn directly in an international academic environment and to deeply understand cultural differences,” said Ni Komang Sri Diantari.
Meanwhile, Ni Komang Ayu Artha Givana added, “We have learned so much about Thai culture, and we hope this collaboration will continue to bring benefits to both institutions.”
On the third day, the students joined a Thai Language for Communication class at Wat Srichan Temple, where they learned the Thai language, local etiquette, and even practiced making and serving coffee for the monks as a symbol of respect.
This program not only enriches the students’ academic and cultural knowledge but also reflects UHN I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa Denpasar’s commitment to fostering globally minded, culturally aware, and internationally competitive graduates.
