The English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA), successfully organized a two-session Studium Generale under the theme “Research Proposal Writing: Practical Insights” for the 2022 and 2023 cohorts.

The first session, held on May 9, 2025, focused on how to structure a valid and relevant introduction and literature review in research proposals. Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Agung Wijaya Mahardika and Dr. Ninuk Indrayani provided practical guidance on formulating clear research problems, defining research objectives, and constructing theoretical frameworks. More than 150 enthusiastic participants actively engaged in the interactive Q&A session, gaining valuable insights to strengthen their proposal writing skills.

The second session, conducted on May 16, 2025, deepened students’ understanding of research proposal components. Dr. Ninuk Indrayani discussed research methods and instruments, while Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Agung Wijaya Mahardika elaborated on data analysis techniques and key principles for successful proposal writing. The interactive discussion encouraged participants to raise in-depth questions related to methodology, sampling, and data analysis procedures, which were comprehensively addressed by the speakers.

Through this two-session program, students became more confident and academically prepared in planning and writing research proposals, reflecting UNESA’s strong commitment to fostering a culture of high-quality research and academic excellence.
